On August 18, 2014 Howard Ankin Attended a seminar for the updated information on Illinois Workers’ Compensation Case Law.
In mid August, 2014 attorney Josh Rudolfi presented to the Workers Compensation Lawyers Association the court case, Dig Right In Landscaping v. IWCC, 2014 Il App (1st) 130410WC. It was a claim appealed to the Illinois Appellate Court which was successfully won by Attorney Rudolfi. The case entitles our client the right to obtain a surgery and back pay for an improperly denied worker’s compensation benefits. The claim was highly disputed and was denied by the Arbitrator at hearing. Attorney Rudolfi subsequently appealed the claim 3 times to obtain justice. Rudolfi’s presentation was very well attended by both lawyers and arbitrators. The case stands for the proposition that the Commission rules on factual disputes while appellate courts rule on disputes of law. (View photo of the presentation)
On August 8, 2014 Howard Ankin was selected as a Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG) Top 100 Injured Workers’ Attorney. (View the Award Letter)
On August 9, 2014 representatives from Ankin Law supported and participated in the 85th annual Bud Billiken Parade. The parade is the oldest and largest African-American parade in the United States. Named after a fictional character known as a caretaker of children the parade signals the near end of summer and the start of a new school year. (View Photos)
On August 5, 2014 Howard Ankin was interviewed on CBS Channel 2, 10 o’clock news by reporter Pam Zekman for a story on unsafe massage therapies. Mr. Ankin was chosen for the story because of his experience representing a recent client.
